We look forward to welcoming back our valued sellers and buyers after the second lockdown which ended on 2 December. The safety of our customers and staff is our primary concern.
Regulations and Guidance from the Government concerning COVID-19 mean a new way of working and a new way of running our auctions. For the foreseeable future, our fortnightly auctions will be online only, with no admittance on the sale day. Viewing will be by appointment only, and the number of visitors in the room at any time will be restricted.
We ask, please, that all customers and visitors to the auction room abide by the regulations and guidance concerning social distancing. Just as importantly, we ask that you please telephone us to make an appointment before visiting the auction room for ANY reason (including viewing, payment, collection and informal enquiries.)
Visitors to the auction must maintain social distancing of 2 metres at all times. Floor markings are in place, and a one-way system is indicated by arrows. Please sanitise your hands upon arrival. Wearing gloves is mandatory, and face coverings or masks are should be worn in accordance with Government regulations. Disposable gloves and face masks are provided free of charge.
Persons viewing a sale by appointment are asked to minimise their handling of objects, and gloves must be worn. We will gladly provide condition reports, and supply further images by email. Clause 9.2 of our Terms for Buyers and Conditions of Sale (which relates to personal inspection of Lots) has been amended to reflect this guidance. Please speak to a member of staff if you require assistance.
Online bidding for our sales will be available through www.the-saleroom.com. Telephone bids (subject to availability) and commission bids will be accepted. Please see our Home Page and Auction Calendar on our website for future auction dates and times, and details of when viewing will be available by appointment.
>We continue to provide a house clearance service, and valuations for probate, insurance and family division.Home visits will of course be subject to Government regulations, and for general valuations we will try to work from photographs in the first instance.
Consignments – please telephone us if you have something you wish to sell. We can then discuss a safe way of bringing this to the auction room.
